Gatekeeper to define and enforce CAD design standards

THE NETHERLANDS — Cadac Organice BV has introduced Cadac Organice Gatekeeper. Cadac Organice Gatekeeper helps companies to define and enforce design standards on AutoCAD drawings and saves substantial time and effort in the design and control process.

Defining CAD design standards
Cadac Organice Gatekeeper helps companies by allowing them to define and automatically enforce design standards, thereby ensuring the quality of their CAD files. With Cadac Organice Gatekeeper you define design standards and save them in a Gatekeeper Standards File (.GSF). The Gatekeeper Standards File are then easily distributed to your internal CAD Engineers and external design partners, so CAD Engineers can apply them to their design work.

Checking CAD files
As CAD Engineers finish designs, they use Cadac Organice Gatekeeper to check them against the standards. Similarly, Document Controllers use Gatekeeper to check incoming CAD files. When checking files, Gatekeeper generates a detailed report showing exactly which CAD files meet the standards and which do not.

Works without AutoCAD
Cadac Organice Gatekeeper works without AutoCAD and is a standalone application. It consists of a runtime version and a full version. The full version is licensed and is used by Document Controllers to define and distribute design standards and to check CAD files against these standards. The free runtime version is used by CAD Engineers and partners to read the Gatekeeper Standards File and check CAD files against the design standards prior to submitting them.

Based on Autodesk's RealDWG

Cadac Organice Gatekeeper is based on Autodesk’s RealDWG and is capable of checking CAD files in Autodesk’s DWG format against design standards.

Cadac Organice Gatekeeper saves substantial time and effort in the design and control process and prevents errors caused by misunderstanding and misinterpretation, the company said.
