ERM implements GIS worldwide

 REDLANDS, CALIF. — To achieve a robust GIS practice while reducing overhead costs in multiple offices, Environmental Resources Management (ERM), a global provider of environmental, health and safety, risk, and social consulting services, signed an enterprise license agreement (ELA) with Esri. The ELA provides unlimited access to Esri desktop and server software products and extensions throughout ERM's 130 offices in 40 countries.

"The use of GIS is fundamental to many ERM consulting services, such as site investigation, impact assessment, planning, and risk management, where understanding the spatial location or distribution of potential impacts or sensitivities is critical to a successful assessment," said Simon Ross, ERM's lead GIS expert. "By signing this ELA, ERM will be able to significantly expand access to GIS software within the company and extend new services to our clients."

According to Esri, its ELAs provide many benefits to users including:
• reduced administrative and procurement expenses;
• flexibility to deploy software products when and where needed; and
• work sharing facilitated through a common platform.
