e-SPECS paper takes mystery out of integrating BIM models and specifications

PORTLAND, MAINE — InterSpec Inc. has announced it is making a recently published paper — e-SPECS for Revit: Integrating Building Information Models and Construction Specifications — available to those interested in learning more about the company’s BIM integrated construction specification software and services.

e-SPECS is the first application to successfully integrate the construction drawings and specification documents, beginning with a fairly simple interface to AutoCAD nearly a decade ago and followed up with a version for Revit not long after its acquisition by Autodesk. Now in its sixth major release, e-SPECS has matured over the years based on continuous customer feedback and feature requests into a stable, easy to implement, integrated solution that delivers real value to customers.

This paper takes the mystery out of the BIM integration to specifications, answering many frequently asked questions, said Michael Brennan, CEO of InterSpec.

"In addition to our monthly webcasts and recorded presentations of e-SPECS, this paper will help principals and decision makers understand how our software applications can fit into their organizational processes without major changes and implementation efforts,” he said. “It provides numerous examples explaining how the standards based integration, validation of information, collaboration technology, and centralization and reuse of a design firm's preferences can enable consistently high quality integrated construction documents."

Those interested in receiving future papers, success stories, case studies, newsletters and e-SPECS news releases should register at www.e-SPECS.com/contact.html.
