NOVATO, CALIF. — IMSI/Design announced that TurboSite Standard v2, its flagship mobile offering and 2013 AIA National Convention's "Best Of Show" app, is now free for any architect, engineer, or construction professional to use. Free TurboSite Standard v2 turns mobile devices such as Apple's iPad or iPhone into a field reporting tool.

» Geospatial data project will let almost anyone put almost anything on map   Purdue

WEST LAFAYETTE, IND. – A powerful web-based system enabling people worldwide to better predict such things as damaging floods and potential effects of climate change is the goal of a $4.5 million, four-year project begun by Purdue University researchers. The project, funded by the National Science Foundation, will add geospatial data hosting, processing and sharing capabilities to Purdue's HUBzero, a platform for building feature-rich websites enabling research and education.

» Trimble acquires CSC to extend structural software portfolio   Trimble

SUNNYVALE, CALIF. — Trimble acquired privately-held CSC (UK) Ltd. headquartered in Leeds, U.K., from ISIS Equity Partners LLP and senior management. CSC's products include software solutions for the analysis and design of steel and concrete buildings. Financial terms were not disclosed. 

» ICC rolls out cloud-based code development process   International Code Council

WASHINGTON, D.C. — International Code Council Members and others with an interest in public safety in the built environment have begun to use the first version of cdpACCESS — the new, cloud-based tool built exclusively for ICC's code development process (cdp). Once referred to as remote voting, cdpACCESS is much more than that. With cdpACCESS, users can create code change proposals and submit them online.
